Surrey Heights Recreation Pond

Built in 2021, this Surrey swim pond was designed as a natural pool, combining clean water, wildlife, and planting to create a more immersive and usable outdoor space.

This project transformed an outdated swimming pool into a 40 by 25 foot swim pond, approximately 4 feet deep, designed to feel like a natural extension of the landscape rather than a conventional water feature. A large wetland filtration system works continuously to keep the natural pool clear and healthy, supporting both swimming and a balanced ecosystem. The design encourages biodiversity, with aquatic plants and surrounding landscaping creating habitat for wildlife while softening the edges of the pond. Stonework and gentle transitions make access easy and inviting, while the overall layout keeps the swim pond as the focal point of the yard. The result is a Surrey water feature that can be enjoyed well beyond the summer months, offering a calm, natural setting for both swimming and everyday relaxation.
